These tiny beads are made of a super absorbent polymer that can soak up a surprising amount of water. Plus, since they are almost entirely water when fully absorbed, they have the same refraction index as water and become invisible.
Water beads are reusable so they can be dehydrated and rehydrated repeatedly. They are environmentally friendly and are 100% biodegradable.
Put in your potted plant’s soil to avoid over-watering, fill a vase and put something in the middle to create interesting illusions, or just enjoy the squishiness!
This 25mL tube goes a long way, and used with food colouring can become any colour you want. They are 3mm when but expand to about 40mm (1.5") in diameter.
They are safe to throw in the bin where they will break down naturally and safely over time, or they can also be tilled into garden soil where they help provide moisture reserves until they biodegrade. Water beads should not be disposed of down the drain.
