Play Time with Conscious Craft & Gin
I remember how I used to enjoy playing in various dens and hide outs when I was little. Mixing different potions, muttering spells, making dolls from dandelions, preparing food from various plants and sand. Sharing secrets with friends, immersed in our little imaginary worlds. Spending time outside is precious and I won’t stop romanticising it. In everyday busyness and spending so much time indoors, we have to learn to stop. To slow down. We have to learn to let things go and re learn to do nothing without feeling guilty, and nature is a perfect teacher. Sometimes I truly believe that time slows down outside. Spending time in nature is so important for our wellbeing, self-confidence. It promotes creativity and imagination.
The little den kit is something I would have loved having when I was a child. We used to secretly take blankets and pegs from home and not every time we were successful 😊 Not every time we had materials for creating our perfect hide out. The den kit just makes the process much easier and enjoyable, with all the little bits that were thoughtfully curated by the Den company. The satchel doesn't just perfectly keep everything you need for den building but also can be used for carrying toys and books around, collecting nature treasures, role play, etc.
Even though my children love to spend time outdoors, they're often not that keen to visit places that we would like to visit, so we have to compromise. We have to choose shorter distances because little legs get tired. We have to stop and rest, and then the den kit comes to the rescue 😊 I love that children can set it up themselves with a little guidance (or not at all). It is a perfect little space for relaxing, having a snack, resting, snuggling, reading, playing games or hiding from the rain. It feels a little bit like camping or going on a special adventure without putting much effort. I find it the perfect addition to our play equipment, also because we can take it to urban places as well - to the local park, city farm or even back garden. We have the cottage den kit but you can also get the British woodland den kit (perfect for birdwatching and hiding in the forest), the original kit and pirate kit. It is a great tool encouraging kids to spend time outdoors.
