Litha is a translucent silhouette designed and illustrated by Vija Docherty for Conscious Craft — the June panel in our Conscious Craft Seasonal Series. It fits the Toverlux Magic Lamp and the Window Frame (all sold separately). Lit from behind, the midsummer night scene shows through in soft colour.
Each silhouette in the series follows the turning of the year at the edge of Ashdown Forest, the setting for a short story we publish each month. June's scene shows Edith deep in the woods at night with Bracken the gnome and the hedgehog, under a full midsummer moon. Tall foxgloves rise among the ferns, an owl drifts overhead, and the forest stands deep and green in the dark.
The scene marks Litha, the midsummer night and longest day of the year, when the woods are at their fullest and the old story says the hidden fern flower blooms for a single moment.
