About The Basket Room Lazima Basket

Bring a splash of Kenyan colour to any corner of the home with this turquoise and natural colour blocked Lazima baskets, hand woven in three different sizes.

Produced by an extremely skilled weaving cooperative in South Western Kenya and can be used all over the home as fruit baskets and desk tidies, nursery storage, large planters and flower pots.

This local grass is hand-dyed in large vats under the supervision of a dye manager, and hung out to dry before the weaving begins. Basket weaving is a complex skill that most weavers have practiced from a young age, having been taught by female elders in the family.

Material: Sisal

Fairtrade & handmade in Kenya

Please note: This is a handmade product, dimensions and colour may vary from those shown in photographs.

The Conscious Craft Philosophy

Children instinctively create and live in an imaginative world. We bring that to life here at Conscious Craft by offering you the best natural toys and craft materials we can find. We believe that giving children the right materials, they will make and play with beautiful things that last a lifetime.

Fantastic shop, definitely worth supporting. Wide selection of the best wooden toys, exemplary customer service. I have ordered from them multiple times and, even amidst the pandemic, my orders arrived in less than a week (I live in Greece). They are also very responsive on social media and regularly update with new items their gorgeous collection.
