The Day Everything Turned is a translucent silhouette designed and illustrated by Vija Docherty for Conscious Craft — the March panel in our Conscious Craft Seasonal Series. It fits the Toverlux Magic Lamp and the Window Frame (all sold separately). Lit from behind, the bright spring woodland scene shows through in soft colour.
Each silhouette in the series follows the turning of the year at the edge of Ashdown Forest, the setting for a short story we publish each month. March's scene shows JK in a sunlit clearing with Bracken the gnome and the hedgehog, making a balanced mobile from things found in the woods — a leaf, a pebble, a feather and a primrose, hung from a curved branch. Crocuses, primroses and daffodils press close to the ground, the first leaves unfurl on the trees, and a robin and rabbits gather close.
The scene marks the spring equinox, the day in late March when light and dark fall into balance and the season turns.
