The Tree in Ribbons and Song is a translucent silhouette designed and illustrated by Vija Docherty for Conscious Craft — the May panel in our Conscious Craft Seasonal Series. It fits the Toverlux Magic Lamp and the Window Frame (all sold separately). Lit from behind, the late-spring woodland scene shows through in soft colour.
Each silhouette in the series follows the turning of the year at the edge of Ashdown Forest, the setting for a short story we publish each month. May's scene shows Edith and JK with Bracken the gnome and the hedgehog, all wearing flower crowns, tying coloured ribbons onto a tree as birds gather around them. Bluebells, dandelions and wild violets scatter the ground, and the woods are full of birdsong and movement.
The scene marks the May celebrations of early summer, the maypole and ribbon-tying traditions that welcome the season of full growth.
