Shadows in the Woods Deluxe is a cleverly imaginative co-operative board game in which a group of gnomes must unite beneath one tree — all while avoiding the flickering candlelight that threatens to freeze them in their tracks. Played together rather than against one another, it's a beautifully tense and joyful experience that brings children and adults into the game as a team, with an adult guiding the candle as the gnomes make their daring moves through the shadows.

Flip the board and a second co-operative version awaits, designed for children aged 7 and up. Here the candle stands still, and it's the gnomes who must creep through the shadows and leap over the light — a fresh challenge that gives this game a lovely longevity as children grow into it.
