Craft Ideas For Kids - Flower Peg Doll image

Making unique peg dolls is easy and fun to do. It’s a great way to create fun characters for your children to play with or for you to use when decorating your nature table.
Get your kids to create their own imaginative little beings. All you really need are some peg dolls, felt and glue. Wild flowers are plentiful at the moment and I have been inspired to make wildflower-themed peg dolls.
Follow the instructions below or get inventive and create your own. For further inspiration and step-by-step guides, Making Peg Dolls by Margeret Bloom is a great book. She has created amazing and inventive little characters. I want to make them all!

Dandelion Peg Doll

You will need: light & dark yellow felt, medium peg doll (5cm), yellow watercolour paint, scissors and glue.

1 - Paint the body of your peg doll a bright, golden yellow and leave to dry.

2 - Print or copy patterns A, B and C and cut out. You may need to do the cutting if you are making this project with younger kids.

3 - Pin your paper patterns on to your felt. Pattern A & C on the darker yellow and pattern B on the light yellow. I find it easier to trace the patterns using a yellow coloured pencil, then take off paper patterns and cut around your drawn shapes.
