Christmas Craft Ideas For Kids - Glitter Pinecone Christmas Tree Ornaments
It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas at home. A little earlier than usual, since it's probably the first Christmas my daughter is fully aware of, which makes it extra exciting.
My little one spotted our new glitter glues in the office and wanted to use them straight away to make something Christmassy to put on the tree.
We decided to make our own glitter pinecone ornaments with all the lovely pinecones we've been gathering during autumn.
Our ornaments aren't perfect but that's part of their charm! My little one made hers with very little help from me while my oldest, joined in after noticing what we were doing and had a great time too.
You will need: pinecones, white paint, glitter glue, festive string, glue, paintbrush
1- Paint your pinecones white. We painted some with a paintbrush and some by dipping in a bowl of white paint. This created a really lovely snow-like effect.
2 - Leave to dry.
3 - Cover your pinecone inside and outside with glitter glue.
4 - Leave to dry. This takes around 30 mins.
5 - Fold your festive string into a hoop and tie a knot.
6 - Add a dab of glue to the bottom of your pinecone and stick your hoop.
7 - Finished pinecone ornaments.
