Craft Ideas For Kids | Natural Bird Feeders
During the cold winter weather, it's important to give your garden birds a little treat with high energy (high fat) food so that they can maintain their fat reserves to survive the frosty nights.
Why not make your own with our super easy bird feeder?
Our little one did this as her birthday craft activity with her friends and they had so much sticky fun. It's quick and you get instant results by seeng all the different birds eating the seeds. Just in time for this year's British Bird Count with the RSPB, on the 26-28 January. We take part every year; it's brilliant to do with the whole family. I would recommend signing up.
You will need: peanut butter, bird seeds, pine cone and twine.
1- Tie some string/twine around the top of your pine cone.
2- Spoon some peanut butter onto your pine cone, especially inside the scales/plates.
3- Place bird seeds onto a plate or bowl, and dip your sticky pinecone into it until it is completely covered with seeds.
4- Tie onto a branch outside and watch the birds enjoy their treat.
